Platypus Marine got the opportunity to do something a little different in the assembly of fiberglass rearing tanks for the Point Defiance Zoo in Tacoma, WA.
The tanks will be used to raise and nurture a variety of sea creatures, including two juvenile spotted eagle rays, and four scalloped hammerhead sharks. The hammerhead sharks swim in a 40-foot by 20-foot off exhibit tank. The lines in the background help them to navigate their way around, without running into the sides of the tank.
The newly arrived sharks will eventually swim in the Baja Bay exhibit of the new Pacific Seas Aquarium, due to open Summer 2018.
