“This was one of the best experiences I have ever had in a shipyard. Your have the best and most conscientious workers I’ve ever worked with. My boat Karen Jeanne, came out absolutely fantastic…!”
-Owner/Captain of the fishing vessel Karen Jean.
‘Karen Jeanne’ a 46’ Hoquiam, was recently purchased by a very knowledgeable and well respected Bodega Bay fishing Captain. She was brought down from Alaska for extensive repairs and modifications by Platypus Marine. Projects included (but were not limited to) the fabrication and install custom rolling chocks. Removal of the old unserviceable fuel tanks and associated fuel lines followed by the fabrication and installation of new aluminum fuel tanks. Removal of old wooden cap rails, rub rails and pot guards then replacing them with heavy duty UHMW. Installation of a newer upgraded sounder system, complete with a new keel faring. Enlarging the existing fish hold opening and the fabrication of a new aluminum hatch cover. Finally, she received a full hull Awlgrip paint job with main deck gelcoating and non-skidding, hull barrier coating and fresh bottom paint. ‘Karen Jeanne’ has launched and is on her way to her new home port of Bodega Bay, California.
