The 100′ Jones/Goodell luxury motor yacht, Pastime, was recently hauled out at the Pacific Northwest Shipyard, Platypus Marine, in Port Angeles Washington. Although, other maintenance and repair items were address, the primary focus of this visit was to evaluate the aging and problematic bow thruster assembly. Close inspection revealed the existing thruster had reached the end of its useful service life. The knowledgeable and experienced Captain, elected to purchase and install a new Key Power, hydraulic bow thruster assembly. Platypus Marine technicians were able to adapt the new thruster assembly to the existing thru-bow tube, expediting the dry-docking period and optimizing value, for the vessel owner.
