USN LCM 3 – Overhaul
The United States Navy LCM 3 was recently hauled out at Platypus Marine Shipyard for extensive repairs. The hardworking vessel was sandblasted from top to bottom, and had all of its hardware removed and replaced with its new stainless steel counterparts. Other work included but was not limited to having the hull rubber bracket bars straightened and repaired, along with having the vessel primed and painted with a top coat and multiple coats of anti-fouling paint to the hull. Platypus Marine Technicians also applied non-skid to the deck, removed the propeller, inspected it, had it polished and then had the item reinstalled. LCM 3 was then put back in service and is now back on duty.
