United States Army Mulberry ST 914 was recently launched and put back in service, ahead of schedule and within budget. The hardworking vessel was hauled out at the Platypus Marine shipyard for an extended period and had major dry dock repairs performed. Work included, but was not limited to: exterior sandblasting, priming and painting of the main deck, topsides and hull underwater body. Anti-fouling paint was applied and new zincs were installed. The running gear and power train was removed, inspected and was completed serviced. In addition our Platypus Marine Fabrication department created motor mounts of the main engines. Other repairs included the main rudders, flanking rudders, keel coolers, sea valves, sea strainers and sea chests. Finally Platypus Marine installed a new rub rail and reinstalled the running gear. United States Army Mulberry ST 914 project is another example of Platypus Marine’s ability to provide the United States Military, ahead of schedule, and within budget.
