The 87’ United States Coast Guard Cutter “Hawksbill” was recently launched and put back in service, ahead of Schedule and within budget. She was hauled out at the Platypus Marine shipyard for an extended period and had major dry dock repairs performed. Work included, but was not limited to: exterior sandblasting, priming and painting of the main deck, topsides and hull underwater body Anti-fouling paint was applied and new zincs were installed. The running gear and power train was removed, inspected and was completed serviced. The USCG Hawksbill project is another example of Platypus Marine’s ability to provide the US Coast Guard and Navy, ahead of schedule, and within budget dry docking services.
