USN YC 1624 – was recently hauled out into Platypus Marine Shipyard for an extensive drydock period. Repairs and procedures included but were not limited to sandblasting the from top to bottom and having the rubber bracket bars straightened and repaired to optimize the performance. During the same timeframe Platypus Marine Technicians primed with multiple coats of Amercoat 235 and then painted using multiple coats of Ameron ABC. The hardworking vessel was also equipped with new zincs to defend against new corrosion increasing the longevity of the vessel. The completed product was then launched and on its way back to Bangor Navy Base on time and within budget.
